ŁKS Commercecon Łódź did not lose even a set in the match against SC Prometey Dnipro in the 2nd round of the Champions League group stage. However, this is not the end of the match marathon for Squirrels.
Although ŁKS Commercecon Łódź defeated SC Prometey Dnipro 3-0, Polish champion cannot say that it was a smooth win. As Kamila Witkowska emphasized after the match, the most important thing was for the team to focus on their game. – No match this season will be easy for us. This season we have to fight against our weaknesses. It’s nice that from the very beginning we were focused on our work, on our assumptions and didn’t allow ourselves to be outplayed by the opponent, and we led the match to a score of 3-0.
Naturally, Bojana Milenković, whom Polish fans know from playing for Chemik Police and who is currently a player of SC Prometey Dnipro, was not happy with the defeat. However, she found positive aspects in her team’s game. – We played a much better match than the previous one against Volero. We had good moments throughout the match. Congratulations to the team from Łódź – they played very well. What we showed was not yet one hundred percent ours. I’m happy because we learned something from this match, although we can play better.
For the Serbian, who played in the Police team in the 2021/2022 season, it was also an opportunity to meet volleyball players with whom she had the opportunity to play in the Polish league. – Two years ago I played in Chemik and of course I remember some of the girls – Roberta Ratzke, Paulina Maj-Erwardt, the outside hitters – we know each other – she said. – I enjoyed my stay in Poland, in Chemik, and playing matches there – she recalled her game in Poland.
What goals do the SC Prometey Dnipro volleyball players set for themselves this season in the Champions League? – First of all, give your maximum and play better and better match by match – emphasized Milenković.
In turn, ŁKS Commercecon Łódź will face new challenges – on Saturday (November 18, 7:00 p.m.) they will play ITA TOOLS Stal Mielec in their own hall. Does Kamila Witkowska like such an intense match rhythm? – I think it’s a matter of getting used to it, but we know that the more we train and the more we play, the more we will feel it in our legs. Hopefully there will be some time to recover and catch your breath. After returning to Poland, we start preparing for the next match. I hope that somewhere we will be able to find two days to rest – concluded the middle blocker od Polish champion.
